Many people find that just being in the company of other parents who have shared a similar experience can be comforting. Our monthly support meetings are very relaxed and welcoming. Whatever the circumstances of your bereavement you would be very welcome at our meetings. Everyone who attends has suffered a loss, and there are similarities and differences in all our experiences. We are very sensitive and espectful of this. Everything that is said in our meetings is private and confidential.

The support meetings are facilitated by a trained Sands befriender. If you have not attended a meeting before, but would like to come along, you would be very welcome. All you have to do is turn up. You do not need to share any details if you do not wish to. You are very welcome to bring a friend along to support you if you need to.

Support meetings are normally held on the second Monday of every month. They are usually held in Great Ashby in Stevenage. Please contact one of our befrienders for more information by emailing northherts@sandsvolunteer.org.uk 

If you cannot attend on a Monday evening please do contact us and we will do our best to support you remotely or help you find an alternative Sands support group (e.g. East Herts, Bedford etc)
